Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence Review

Last product from my recent Yesstyle haul that I will be reviewing is the Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence. Snail products have been all the rage in Asia for the past while, and many brands have produced snail products such as creams, masks, essences and much more. I think at some point I tried a Tony Moly Snail mask before but I don't really remember any benefits from it except for moisturizing my skin. Snail mucin has been claimed to heal damaged skin and is suppose to have anti-flammatory properties. Many people have used snail mucin products to prevent and heal acne and also many have claimed that it calms down rosacea as well. The Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence has been highly raved about in various blogs and also on /r/Asianbeauty. Also if you want information on skincare and Asian beauty products in general, this subreddit is an amazing resource. I haven't done much in-depth research on snail mucin or know too much about the process on how companies extract the mucin. If anyone has any knowledge or have links to articles they would like to share, please comment down below. My review of this product is based on my personal experience and how my skin reacts to it. Everyone's skin is different, I've heard for some people this product didn't do a whole lot but other claims it to be holy grail status.

Before Photos of my Skin

Four Days after using the Product

So looking at the before photos and the 4 days after photos, I don't see a huge difference. I do notice that my redness around my face has tone down slightly. I feel like my face has a nicer glow in person than before using the product. However in the 4 days span of time, my acne scarring and my red spots are still visible. My redness is still prominent on my face after using the product.

One Week of using the Product 

My skin actually got quite red and I developed some red spots on my face. This unfortunately happens quite often with my skin. So it doesn't seem like the snail mucin essence really helped with my redness. 

Conclusion

The Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence doesn't seem to be quite effective on me. I do notice my skin feeling more plump and glowy after using it. However it doesn't do anything for my redness on my face. I will continue using this product and see if it changes my skin after using it up. Like I said before, everyone's skin is different. Maybe this product just didn't react with my skin the way it did with others. If any one has any other snail product recommendations or anything that helps with rosacea and redness, please let me know. A huge part of me started this blog was to see what products would help improve my skin and what won't. I don't mind the trial and error with trying new products, it's actually intriguing for me.
